Born in Genova, Italy, moved to the US many years ago (1987), lived in Florida, Illinois, Delaware and California; in Canada (Alberta) since 2002. I like to play scientist, and am lucky enough to get paid for that. I am a theoretical condensed matter physicist, do research and teach physics at University of Alberta.
I am interested in physics, mostly quantum, mostly many-body and mostly computational, with a particular emphasis on methodology (especially Quantum Monte Carlo).
I am also interested in science in general, including science education and policy. But I do not usually pass on opportunities to speak about stuff I know nothing about.
